Their son Jason ( JasonTolis.com ) is an exceptional graphic designer and photographer who oversees the design of their distinctive direct mail pieces and sophisticated but inviting website. While Rick and Jason hold full-time positions (Rick with the Pima Community College Small Business Development Center and Jason with his own digital imaging business), Paige-Tolis Designs is a home-based business, providing the family time to focus on producing and nationally marketing their unique and heart-warming line of gift art. The Tolis family's devotion to one another and deep involvement with the congregation of Christ Community Church, on Tucson's east side are certainly reflected in the themes of Linda's art.

Her images as well as her career as an artist, in fact, grew directly from an emotionally difficult time in the family's history. In 1991, Rick's military duty as Chief Master Sergeant with the Air Force called him to Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm service. One morning, the separation and fear for her husband's life caused Linda to pick up a pencil and sketch a "hugs for heroes" card for Rick, showing two bears hugging each other. Within that first simple illustration, Rick recognized the spark of his wife's talent and encouraged her to develop herself professionally. Ever since, Linda says, "He has remained my greatest supporter."

Upon retiring in 1996 from a more than 28-year distinquished career with the Air Force, Rick decided to earn the business degree that provided a strong base to manage the family business. And in May 2000, he accepted the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) position, further strengthening his role in the world of small business.

While the infant and children market has recently become her company's primary target, Linda has also designed a number of other special event ( Custom Illustrations ), country home, executive gift and holiday pieces, including last year's family Christmas card for Arizona's U.S. Congressmen John Shadegg. This year, however, promises the birth of a whole new generation of babies awakening to the friendly faces of Paige-Tolis Designs.com.
